Today in an hotel in Prague a meeting was held between the Czech and Israel Quality Societies. On behalf of the Czech participated Peter Koten – CEO, Jana Kotenova, Ondrej Hyks and Alena Plaskova. On behalf of Israel participated Ervin and Miriam Engel.
The issues discussed among others were the continuation of the good relations between the societies, the possibility of connecting via Linkedin and starting to perform mutual projects.
In regard to the mutual project the Czech Society would be interested in two – one is the educational systems for quality and excellence in both countries.
It was agreed to continue sending lecturers and articles each society to the other.
Quality Innovation Award 2016 – February 2, 2017
On February 2, four innovative projects from Israel received „Quality Innovation Award“. The Quality Innovation Award is an annual, international competition, founded in Finland, increasing the visibility of innovations, benchmark and assess them on the international level. The competition has been organized for the 10th time in 12 countries. In Israel the competition is organized by Israel Society for Quality. Total of 352 innovations participated in the competition of 2016 and 18 of them were recognized winners last night (2.2.17) in Michna Palace in Prague. This year the hosting organization was the Czech Society for Quality.
The winners from Israel received the Awards (signed by the president of the Republic of Finland) from Deputy Head of Mission, Mr. Eran Yuvan.

The 21-st International Conference of the Israel Society for Quality is due to convene on 15-17 November 2016 in Tel Aviv.
Many foreign professionals have registered to the conference and its social events. On June 2016, Yair Avidan, a member of International Relationship Committee of Israel Society for Quality (ISQ), visited Japan due to a business trip on
behalf of the company where he works, Orbotech Ltd. During his stay in Japan he visited the Union of Japanese Scientist and Engineers (JUSE).
The meeting was held at the head office of the JUSE in Tokyo in the presence of Mr. Ichiro Kotsuka san the Managing Director & Secretary General of Deming Prize Committee and Mr. Ken Takatori san the Deputy General Manager of Corporate Administration Center who is also responsible for PR &
International Relations Group. Yair presented the Japanese delegates about the ISQ organizational structure, responsibilities and activities. During the meeting were discussed possible cooperation between the two unions.
As steps of starting a relationship between the two unions agreed on the following activities: publishing articles and research from the field of quality in the Quality Magazine and in the Web sites of the both unions, invitation to international conferences sponsored by both unions in Japan and Israel. Yair Avidan is the POC and he will continue communicate with Mr. Ken Tkatori san in order to develop this relationship. At the end of the meeting Yair awarded the Japanese delegates with the ISQ sign and invited them to Israel's International Quality Conference to be held in November 2016.
Meeting with the Delegation of European Union in Israel
On Friday 15th April 2016 The Deputy Chairman of ISQ Gideon Roth met with the Head of the Trade and Economic Section of the Delegation of the European Union in Israel Mr. Sandor Szelekovszky and with Mr. Uri Fishelson the Economic & Trade Officer. The activities and the operation of ISQ were presented in the meeting and opportunities for co-operation were discussed.
The 21-st International Conference of the Israel Society for Quality will convene on November 15-17, 2016 in Tel Aviv, Israel.
The theme of the conference this year is "Quality Challenges in a competitive world". you can use this excellent opportunity to address and discuss various issues with numerous quality professionals from Israel and the world either as a lecturer or as an attendant, as well as explore the beauty and history of Israel.

Quality Innovation of the Year Prizes for 2015 Have Been Awarded – 27 January 2016
The Quality Innovation of the Year Competition for 2015 has been organized for the ninth time by the Finnish Quality Association and the national quality organizations of the participating countries: Finland, Estonia, Sweden, Latvia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Israel, Basque Country and Lithuania. A total of 218 innovations participated in the competition and the top 14 were recognized in the Award Ceremony on 27th January 2016 in Tallinn, Estonia, hosted by the Estonian Association for Quality.
The diplomas signed by the President of the Republic of Finland Mr. Sauli Niinistö were awarded by ambassadors of the participating countries and the grand prize – Innovation of Innovations, was awarded by Minister of Entrepreneurship of Estonia Ms. Liisa Oviir.
Two Israeli participants were awarded the International Award (first place in their respective categories):
– NewCo2Fuels Ltd. for their innovative CO2 Emission Reduction and Utilization System
– AutoAgronom Israel Ltd. for their Autonomous Irrigation Controller
Additionally, the Innovation of Innovations prize for 2015 was awarded to AutoAgronom Israel Ltd. for their Autonomous Irrigation Controller. This advanced and unique solution autonomously governs the irrigation and fertigation of crops to generate savings of around 50% in water and fertilizers while increasing yields and preserving the environment
The winners of the competition passed a strict methodology of evaluation based on their novelty value, usability, learning, customer orientation and effectiveness. The winners were assessed by professional juries from the participating national Quality Associations via a rigorous voting process.
Israel has joined the competition in 2014, and since then all the Israeli international finalists have been awarded and, for the second time in a row, Israeli companies have snatched the Innovation of Innovations prize (VoiceIt in 2014 and AutoAgronom in 2015).
In Israel, the national phase of the competition is conducted by the Israel Society for Quality, sponsored by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Space and supported by:
ASQ Country Counselor for Israel – Gideon Roth
The ASQ has nominated Gideon Roth, a Fellow of the ASQ, to be the ASQ Country Counselor for Israel for 2 years from January 2016.
A Country Counselor is an ASQ ambassador for the ASQ members in Israel and for those who would like to join the society.
Roth will represent the ASQ in events in Israel that are related to the ASQ.
Country Counselors are valued member leaders who promote and exemplify the aspects of Quality.
Dr. Sigalit Modhi has been chosen as chairman of the Israeli Association for Quality
Dr. Modahi is engaged in the field of Quality Management in the health system in Israel since 2002. She served for ten years in Hadassah hospitals and as of the last year she is employed by the Clalit Health Services as the Director of Quality Assurance of the laboratories complex at the level of hospitals and the national level, leading certification processes and certification of the laboratories and different departments in hospitals. In addition, she serves as an ISO 9001 auditor for the Standards Institution of Israel in medical and health agencies. Previously served for a year as Vice President for certification at the Israel Laboratory Accreditation Authority. She holds a Ph.D degree from the Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture – the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, since 2000. Completed post-doctorate at the Institute of Microbiology at the Medical School campus Hadassah – Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Since 2007 she is certified as CMQ/QE by both Israel Society for Quality and the American Society for Quality. Participated in scientific committees and organizing committees of Quality conferences. Initiated the health sector of the Israel Society for Quality and is a member of the committee to promote quality management as a formally recognized profession.
Quality Innovation of the Year 2015 – National Winners Award ceremony
Israeli Winners in the national phase of the Quality Innovation of the Year Competition for 2015, were nominated and awarded during the 13-th National Conference of Israel Society for Quality (ISQ) on Nov. 24, 2015. The ceremony was attended by hundreds of managers and quality and excellence specialists. The awards were presented by Mr. Dov Peri- ISQ Chair and Mr. Shlomo Lichtenstein – the competition leader in Israel.

The National winners will represent Israel in the international phase of the competition to be concluded in December.

July 2015 – the food industries section is expanding. A meeting with leaders from main food firms was held in the "Osem" head office.
July 2015 – a new section was added to the ISQ – Six Sigma. The first meeting was held at the Israel Standards Institute. the section leader, Dr. P. Grabov led the meeting and among other items he announced that during the National Quality Conference this November there will be sessions on Six Sigma.
June 2015 – The annual conference of Ort Braude "Quality – practice to performance" was held in the College campus. At the conference the annual prizes for excellence were given to several organizations.
May-June 2015 – ISQ Annual Quality Week: several organizations hosted members of the ISQ in their facilities. These visits enabled members of the society to get acquainted with other quality systems and methods, and it was an opportunity for the organizations to present their achievements.
Ervin Engel, member of the International Affairs Committee of the Israel Society for Quality met on May 15 in the Slovak town of Kosice with a representative of the Slovak Society for Quality Mr. Dusan Plichta. Mr. Engel also met in Prague with top members of the Czech society for Quality – Mr. Petr Koten, Dr. A. Plaskova and Mrs. Romana Hofmanova. In these meetings several interrelations issues were discussed. In the meeting with the Slovak society the relations and how to improve them was discussed. Among other the issue of data exchange via internet and publications was discussed. The participation of representatives of the Slovak Society in the ISQ international conference was also agreed upon. Mr. Engel emphasized in his meetings the importance of promoting quality and excellence worldwide by the global cooperation between societies.
On Friday March 27 2015 ISQ representatives met with the Czech Ambassador in Israel, His Excellency B.G (res) Ivo Schwarz and with the Deputy head of mission Karel Pazourek and the Third Secretary, Commercial Counsellor Branislav Gal.
The representatives from the ISQ were Mr. Ervin Engel and Gideon Roth. Mr. Roth has presented to the Czech delegates the structure and activities of the ISQ and the fruitful co-operation with their colleagues from the Czech Society for Quality.
The Ambassador was impressed by the activities and co-operation and it was agreed between the parties to continue the relations and to include ISQ in visits of dignitaries from the Czech Republic when possible.
The International Academy for Quality (IAQ) invites you to its World Quality Forum "Quality for Future of the World" which will be held in Budapest on October 26-27, 2015.
The first IAQ World Quality Forum will give a message to the whole Quality World. The Forum expects participants from all over the world to inform them on the latest development of the quality management, trends, methods and tools. The IAQ Members are preparing the so-called IAQ Discussion Panels, but all Speakers and Poster Presenters are welcome with well-founded abstracts relating to the selected topics of the World Forum. Also recognized Quality Development Teams will get an opportunity to introduce their achievements.
All quality committed people: Representatives of the Top-Management, Quality Management Departments, Marketing, etc. from the private, but also from public sector, from research and education institutions, especially from universities and also consultants are welcome as contributors and participants.
The First IAQ World Quality Forum intends to give a message for the Future of the World how important is quality thinking by governments, companies, organizations, people and all together the whole society.

January 1, 2014 – the society management board finished its 2 year term. The summary of the term showed a variety of achievements, showed the importance of the society's activities and position, and its important role within the Israel and International quality communities.
Today a new board of managers started a 2 year term and Mr. Dov Peri was reelected as the Chair of the society.
November 2013 – Mrs. Chava Sher and Mr. Gideon Hadan, both senior members in the ISQ, were guests of the Czech Society for Quality. Both of them lectured in 2 of the CSQ events. ISQ thanks CSQ for the hospitality.
October 2013 – National Quality Conference – more than 1,500 attendees in the conference that was held in Tel Aviv on Oct 29-30 2013. The conference motto is "Quality out of the box" and included many topics related to this motto. Among the topics were Aviation-Space-Defense; Reliability; Risk management; Measuring quality management systems; Cyber data and security; Statistics and Innovation.
Excelling in Academia – students in the Ramat-Gan academic center for law and business received recognitions for their achievements in quality study.
This ceremony is already a tradition which is orgenized by Dr. Zur and its sponsored by the society.
June 2013 – "Members night" – the society organize free evening meeting for its members where the society is responsible to bring a lecturer and notify on the event and one of organizational members allow the use of its meeting room for the event.
In June 2013 the event was at the ECI facility and the topic "Myths, half truth and superstitions in the food and nutrition industry", the lecturer was Mr. Eitan Sharon.
02.06.2013 Mr. Avi Peled, VP Quality of Motorola Solution [Israel] was appointed as the Chairman of the 20th International Quality Conference of the ISQ to be held in 2014 in Tel Aviv.

May 2013 National Quality week – as in each year the National Quality week was celebrated with many visits of the society members in organizations and factories.
22.05.2013 the Polish Center for Testing and Certification and the Israel Society for Quality signed a mutual agreement between the Societies in Tel Aviv today.
06.05.2013 the Brazilian Society for Quality PGQP and the Israel Society for Quality renewed the mutual agreement between the Societies during the World Partners meeting in the ASQ World Conference.
06.05.2013 Chava Scher and Gideon Roth represented the ISQ in the ASQ World Partners meeting during the ASQ International Conference in Indianapolis today.
24.10.2012 the Russian Society for Quality and the Israel Society for Quality signed a mutual agreement between the Societies in Jerusalem today. The agreement was signed during the 19th International Conference.
The activities of the Foreign Affairs committee Jan 2010:
- The committee is finalizing its negotiations with the Czech Society for Quality to finalize a mutual relations agreement between societies.
- The committee will continue its negotiations with the Hungarian Society in order to sign a mutual relations agreement.
- Following the elections at the end of 2009 and the new biannual term of the new management and committees the foreign affairs committee is changing most of its members. The new members represent new fields of quality that have not been presented so far such as health and Hi-tech. the committee members hope to add more activities to the committee portfolio.
The management of ISQ has elected Mr. Oren Nakar as the chairman of the next 17-th International Conference of ISQ which will be convened in November, 2008 in Jerusalem. 2008 is the 60-th anniversary of the State of Israel and ISQ expects numerous participants in the conference from many countries.
International Aerospace Quality Group – an organization of over 60 prominent aerospace and defense companies of the world, awarded Mr. Shlomo Lichtenstein with an Award of Recognition at its spring General Assembly meeting conducted at Melbourne Australia. The award recognizes "Shlomo Lichtenstein initiative, dedication and resourcefulness in advancing International Aerospace Quality". Shlomo Lichtenstein is a member of ISQ management, chairs the Israeli Aerospace and Defense Industries Sector and served as the chairman of the successful 16-th International Conference of ISQ (Nov. 2006). He is as well the manager for Yitzhak Rabin National Quality Award.
ISQ has joined the European Organization for Quality. Dr. Zigmund Bluvband attended the recent conference of EOQ in Prague and has summarized the joint agreement with ………. EOQ comprises of 30 members representing the quality associations of their respective countries.
Chava Scher, ISQ Chair, has attended the American Society for Quality (ASQ) Conference on Quality, which has taken place in Orlando, Florida on May 2007. During the conference she has surveyed Israel Society for Quality (ISQ) activities during the ASQ World Partners sessions and has conducted meetings with prominent quality activists.
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Reliability Society – the world's leading professional association for the advancement of technology, awarded Lifetime Achievement for 2006 to Dr. Zigmund Bluvband "for major contributions as a leader and innovator in the field of reliability engineering". Dr. Bluvband served as ISQ chair and member of ISQ management and continues to contribute his efforts and experience to the benefit of Quality community in Israel.
The 16-th International Conference of ISQ closed in Tel Aviv on November, 16. The main conference topic was "Quality as a Catalyst for Global Cooperation". Above 2500 managers and quality experts from over 20 countries had attended the 3 – days long conference. The conference was honored by the attending and greetings of prominent guests, such as: Mr. Shimon Peres – Vice Prime Minister, Mr. Michael Nichols – ASQ President Elect, Dr. Robert Kaarls – CIPM General Secretary, among other prominent political and industry leaders. The conference, which has been chaired by Mr. Shlomo Lichtenstein, has been announced as one of the most successful and interesting conferences in the history of ISQ.
